The Problem

Most election offices run the operation on spreadsheets, email, and phone calls.

Election operations run to a fixed date on a compressed timeline. Thousands of workers are recruited and certified in weeks, hundreds of polling places are staffed with party balance and accessibility requirements, and sealed equipment moves under a documented chain of custody. When those pieces live in separate tools, the seams are where the operation breaks.

Assignments miss the need because the worker roster and the polling place list live apart.
Accessibility problems surface on election day instead of in the assessment weeks before.
Equipment incidents are not tied to the machine so a device's history is lost between elections.
Election day runs on phone calls with no single view of every polling place.
Records requests turn into archaeology because the cycle was never kept in one place.

One operational record for the whole election cycle.

Kinetech Elections keeps workers, polling places, equipment, incidents, and communications on the same record. Election day runs against a live dashboard built from the data staff used the week before, and the post-election audit queries that same record.

How an Election Cycle Runs

From cycle setup to post-election audit on one record.

Six stages on a fixed calendar. Each is configured to your jurisdiction's rules by election staff, not coded.

01 · Cycle setup

The election date is set, polling places are confirmed, equipment inventory is verified, and training is assigned.

02 · Recruitment and training

Applications open through a public portal and partner referrals. Eligibility and party balance are checked continuously, and certification comes before assignment.

03 · Assignment

Workers are matched to polling places and shifts by availability, role, party balance, experience, and travel distance.

04 · Logistics and accessibility

Equipment and supply kits are allocated, chain of custody starts at deployment, and each polling place's ADA assessment is documented before election day.

05 · Election day

A live dashboard shows open status, wait times, equipment issues, and coverage for every polling place. Field staff are dispatched from the same view.

06 · Close and audit

Equipment returns under chain of custody, hours flow to payroll, and the complete cycle record supports audits and public records requests.

Underneath every stage: role-based access, bipartisan oversight records where your board requires them, and an audit trail on every assignment, movement, and decision.

Who It's For

Built for the offices that run elections.

One operations engine, configured to each jurisdiction's election types, roles, and oversight rules.

Federal, state, and local elections from one operations record.

  • Primary, general, special, and runoff elections, alongside early voting and vote by mail.
  • Party balance tracked per polling place where bipartisan staffing is required.
  • Chain of custody reporting for audits, certification, and legal challenges.

Municipal elections, run on their own or with the county.

  • City, township, and special-district elections.
  • Facility agreements with schools, churches, and community centers tracked per election.
  • Poll worker hours exported to your payroll or finance system.

Statewide standards, training, and support for local officials.

  • Training and certification tracked against statewide requirements.
  • Post-election reporting for state boards and the Election Assistance Commission.
  • HAVA accessibility documentation for each polling place in each election.

Bipartisan boards and the providers that serve smaller jurisdictions.

  • Bipartisan oversight records for boards that require them.
  • Election services delivered to smaller jurisdictions under contract or agreement.
  • Open records and FOIA responses from a queryable, exportable record.
Capabilities

What your office gets on day one.

Configured for election operations, not written from scratch.

Poll worker recruitment

A public application portal, partner referrals, and roster imports, with eligibility, party affiliation where required, and background checks tracked per worker.

Training and certification

Courses in person, online, or hybrid, with certification tracked by role and by equipment and enforced before a worker can be assigned.

Scheduling and assignment

Workers matched to polling places and shifts by availability, role, party balance, experience, and distance, with reassignment when someone cancels.

Polling place management

Inventory, capacity, facility agreements, ADA assessments with remediation tracking, and opening and closing checklists for each polling place.

Equipment and chain of custody

Voting machines, poll books, and supplies tracked from warehouse to polling place and back, with seal verification and a timestamped custody log.

Election-day operations

A live dashboard of open status, wait times, equipment issues, and coverage, with mobile incident reporting and field dispatch.

Worker messages and payroll

Assignment confirmations, reminders, and day-of updates by email and text. Hours worked flow to payroll with 1099 and W-2 support.

Audit and public records

An unalterable audit trail on every assignment, equipment movement, and incident, ready for audits, certification, and records requests.

Every capability above is configuration, delivered and extended in two-week sprints.

Proven in Production

Running election day for a large county board of elections.

Kinetech Elections runs election operations for a large county board of elections, across more than 350 polling places and 3,000 poll workers: recruitment, training, scheduling and assignment, polling place management including ADA compliance, equipment and supply logistics under chain of custody, and election-day coordination.

Leadership sees every polling place in real time on election day, and the full cycle, from recruitment through the post-election audit, sits on one record.

350+ polling places staffed and assessed for accessibility.
Chain of custody on equipment, ballots, and sealed materials.
Real-time dashboards for leadership on election day.
Why Kinetech Elections

Built for a cadence no other public program runs on.

Election operations are a different discipline from case management, so Kinetech Elections is its own product, designed around election cycles and real-time operations.

A record that outlasts the cycle

Equipment incident files stay with the machine across elections, so a device that failed once has a history before its next use.

One view on election day

The election-day dashboard pulls from the same data staff used all cycle, not from a separate status spreadsheet.

Ready for scrutiny

Chain of custody, bipartisan oversight, and ADA documentation are kept as the work happens, so audits and legal challenges start from a complete record.

The configuration is yours. The roadmap is yours.

Compliance & Security

Built to the standard your program has to meet.

SOC 2 Type II · ISO 27001, 27017, 27018 · NIST SP 800-53 · HIPAA-ready · WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508. Built on a FedRAMP Moderate authorized platform. Certifications and attestations

SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 27017, and ISO 27018. Reports are available on request to support vendor risk assessments.

FedRAMP where the program requires it

Built on a FedRAMP Moderate authorized platform. Applications can be deployed into FedRAMP Moderate or High environments where a contract requires it; commercial cloud as standard for programs without a federal authorization requirement.

NIST SP 800-53 and StateRAMP

Applications inherit platform-level control implementation and add engagement-specific controls. Delivery aligns with StateRAMP Moderate where required by state contract.

HIPAA

Business Associate Agreements are supported. Encryption, access controls, audit logging, and breach notification align with the HIPAA Security and Privacy Rules where an application processes protected health information.

Accessibility, WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508

Accessibility is designed in from the first sprint, not audited at the end. Automated scanning runs every sprint, and screen reader testing with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver covers critical workflows before release. An Accessibility Conformance Report in VPAT format is produced as a delivery artifact.

Encryption and access

TLS 1.2 or 1.3 in transit and AES-256 at rest. Every environment uses an isolated database instance. Permissions are enforced at the data model, so a restricted user cannot reach protected data even through an API.

Cloud agnostic. Deploy on the cloud you choose. Azure, Google Cloud, and agency-controlled environments are supported alongside AWS.
